Although Vidya International School doesn’t conform to most people’s mental image of what a school is meant to look like, we are committed to providing an internationally recognized academic education that gives our students the ability to be competitive and successful in the wider world. For us, at Vidya International the word curriculum has a single powerful association-the image of ‘The Whole Child’ and hence, the curriculum and ‘The Whole Child’ tend to be seen as inseparable. Little Wonders International houses classes from Playgroup to Grade 2.

You’ll find all of the traditional subjects here, up and down the grade levels. The difference at Vidya Internation School is that academics come wrapped in rich layers of experiential, environmental, and entrepreneurial learning and the creative arts. In the process we hope to create more authentic motivations for learning, and at the same time expand our students’ sense of global citizenship and environmental responsibility while exposing them to different possibilities for how we live and grow as a fragile planet.

Our pedagogy understands ‘The Whole Child’ means the child’s complete integration of intellectual (cognitive), emotional, social and physical capabilities. We believe that all teaching and learning must involve and develop the intelligence to create thinking individuals, who get the right developmental learning and are inspired to be independent learners and achievers, thus creating global citizens.

CURRICULUM

Thus involving learning using 3 to 4 of the Nine Intelligences like

  • Linguistic i.e. learning through listening and speaking.
  • Logical-using mathematical concepts to learn to reason, calculate, and keep logic going, precise.
  • Visual-learning through visual aids so as to able to draw, copy, paint, and work with images, observant.
  • Bodily-learning through activities-kinesthetic i.e. is able to use hands well, good at physical activity, dancer, & actor.
  • Musical-learning through music.
  • Interpersonal-co-operative learning while discussing, relates well to others, works well in teams, & helps others.
  • Interpersonal-Learning through self-assessment-Thinks a lot, aware of self, self motivated, honest with self.
  • Naturalist-learning through nature-interested in the environment and the living world.
  • Spiritual-Learning through moral values. Sensitive towards fairness and justice.


Vidya International School offers a unique blend of National and International Curriculum which is relevant to the 21st century and accepted by leading universities all over the world. The school classes from grade 1 to grade 10. affiliated to the council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE). Students can opt for ICSE at Grade 9.

At the Primary and Secondary Stage, the School has evolved a Creative Curriculum drawn from the guidelines laid down by the Indian & International Certifications. This integrated approach expands the scope of learning and goes beyond ‘Just the textbook’.

The teaching standards are interactive and the continuous Assessment Programme ensures that the evaluation of the child is both comprehensive and holistic. Our students are encouraged to set their own targets and work towards achieving them, thus improving their own standards.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination(ICSE):
In October 1956, at the meeting of the Inter State Board for Anglo-Indian Education a proposal was adopted for the setting of an Indian Council to administer the University of Cambridge, Local Examination syndicate for the best way to adopt its examinations to the needs of the country. The inaugural meeting of the council was held on 3rd November 1958 & this is how the ICSE Board came into existence.

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, Delhi conducts three examination as:
ICSE - Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination (Grade 10)
SSLC – Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Grade 10)
CVE – Certificate in Vocational Education.
ISC – Indian School Certificate Examination (Grade 12)

Vidya International School shall follow the ICSE from Grades 7 to 10. The curriculum is more project based and gives emphasis to English as the major language and Hindi as the second language. Emphasis is on English Literature. It prepares the child, if not wholly but almost at par with IB andIGCSE kind of syllabus and other competitive exams. The assessments are majorly through alphabetic grades but from Grade 7 it is by numeric score. The scope of syllabus is defined by the board but it allows the school  to select its own textbooks. As it has an extensive syllabus it helps to develop thinking and analytical skills.
